RsyncUI is a macOS application developed using Swift and SwiftUI, designed for macOS Sonoma and subsequent versions. It leverages the command-line tool rsync for file synchronization. Notably, rsync executes the synchronization tasks, while RsyncUI provides a graphical user interface (GUI) on top of rsync. RsyncUI is digitally signed and notarized by Apple. RsyncUI is 100% open-source software and will remain absolutely free for all time. As a safety precaution, the —delete parameter is not set as a default parameter when adding new tasks. To ensure that the source and destination are in complete synchronization, the —delete parameter must be enabled. If you are new to rsync, I strongly recommend reading the “Important” section as a minimum. Privacy statement RsyncUI is a desktop application only, there is no server component. It does not generate any logs that are transmitted from your Mac. Data pertaining to tasks and logs is stored locally on your Mac as files. You can backup all files created by RsyncUI to the Document Catalog on your Mac from the Settings view. The sole data transferred from your Mac to a server occurs only if you enable tasks with a remote server destination. You bear sole responsibility for securing your own data if synchronized to a remote server.

A number of bird families deserve special consideration as to the mechanics of their effective capture (photographically) in the field. One of these is the warblers. Though the taxonomists will rightfully distinguish between the old-world warblers (the Sylviidae) and the new-world warblers (the Parulidae), for our purposes it serves just as well to consider any small, fast-moving bird as an “honorary warbler”—just for the present discussion. These subjects can be exceedingly difficult to capture in an aesthetic pose, for a number of reasons which we’ll consider in due course. In this section we’ll focus on techniques for effectively photographing small, active songbirds such as warblers, vireos, wrens, chickadees, nuthatches, and similar species. For many birders, the biggest problem with warblers is finding them and getting close enough to get a good view (and/or a good photograph). In the suburbs of Washington D.C., where I first took up birding many years ago, there are a number of excellent places to go to see warbers during the spring migration. Unfortunately, these tend to be better places to see warblers (i.e., with binoculars) than to photograph them. In many forest settings, warblers like to forage high in the trees, and since the birds are themselves quite small, an enormous amount of magnification may be required to make the bird fill enough of the frame.

Every year thousands of birders, photographers, and nature lovers flock to this location in spring to witness the unforgetable spectacle of large songbird concentrations preparing to migrate across the great lake toward their breeding grounds in the north. Many birders make the trip annually. Some have been doing so for twenty five or thirty years. Magee Marsh is just one of those special places that you have to come back to year after year.

Are the results of this disastrous for Apple’s App Store business? I don’t think so at all. Gonzales Rogers is demanding that Apple ... do what Phil Schiller recommended they do all along. But are the results of this disastrous for Apple’s reputation and credibility? It sure seems like it.
